What NRMA provides
NRMA's approach balances regulatory integrity, efficient processing and strong document verification — ensuring confidence for shipowners, employers, port-State authorities and seafarers.
- STCW endorsements recognising certificates of competency or proficiency issued by other competent authorities
- Flag confirmations or endorsements for specific functions when required
- Replacement or re-issuance of NRMA-issued documents (lost, damaged or amended details)

From submission to delivery
Submission
A complete application is submitted through official NRMA channels or via a recognised agent.
Verification
NRMA verifies identity, certificate authenticity and compliance with applicable requirements.
Decision
Upon approval, documentation is issued in accordance with NRMA procedures.
Delivery
Documents are issued electronically and/or by courier, depending on document type.
Service standards: acknowledgement within 1 business day; processing typically 3–5 business days. Priority handling is considered where safety, compliance or operational continuity is at risk.
Training world-class marine officers
The Niger Seafarers Education College (NSEC) was established to provide professional maritime training for Niger graduates. It has set superior standards for selecting and training its cadets to become world-class Marine Engineers.
In partnership with Niger National University, NSEC trains more than 500 Marine Engineering and Electro-Technical Officers annually — a number set to grow to more than 1,000 officers each year.
